When I think of July, summer vacation always pops into my mind and summer vacay always means the beach, well for most people. This outfit would be perfect for a casual dinner date at the beach. It was inspired by PaperMoth’s Sea Horse Drawing/Painting/Artwork. You can find it here.

Today I co-hosted or was more like the grunt person at a co-workers bridal shower. It was pretty informal and consisted of about ten women/ladies/girls. We played the newlywed, what is the British equalivant, and toilet paper wedding dressmaker. I don’t know if those are the real names for games, but it is what I call them. The first one entails someone calling the groom and asking him a set of questions and then asking the bride the same set. The objective is for the bride to answer them all correctly; however, sometimes they aren’t even close. One question was “if your first kiss was candy, what would it be called?” It was pretty funny to hear the responses. Since the bride is marrying a Brit, the host decided it was only appropriate that we tried to name the British word that correspondent to the American word. I didn’t even know a third of them. It was horrible.
Lastly, the toilet paper dressmaker is a standard and you can pretty much guess what you do.
Well here is what I wore:

I am still learning how to take pictures… I guess practice makes perfect.
Shirt: Ana via JcPenney
Cami: Can’t remember
Jeans: Guess via Ross
Shoes: Mia via DSW

In Style Magazine is very inspirational to me. Being the average person, who goes to work and comes home, I often find that I am in a rut with clothes. I do not know what to buy and I have a hard time finding something for my age. I’m no longer a teenager; however, I do not want to dress older than what I am. It is extremely hard at times to dress when you are in your Mid to Late twenties and I am the queen of not finding that happy medium. However, In Style frequently gives me ideas of what to wear or even how to wear something. I am able to find things in my closet and reinvent them. This is a wonderful example.
This top is something I have had for years. I first bought it in college for a “clubbing” shirt and it has been in my closet every since, but I have not worn it in years and have not wanted to give it away just yet. The jean shirt I bought at Goodwill this year, the shorts are from Ebay and the shoes are another example of college wear! Love the new look and how I reinvented each piece!

Sorry for the delay in blogging. It has been very crazy with starting up graduate school, getting into the swing of school again, still working full time, and helping out whenever possible with my mom’s health. However, as I was looking at shopbop.com, which I sadly just recently found. I realized that I needed a study/writing a paper break. I was inspired to “copy” one of Tibi Runway “collection” from Spring 2010. I, of course, received this photo from ShopBop.com and I only used the clothes I currently have. I did not go out and buy any, that would completely defeat the purpose. I love trying new clothing combinations with the clothes I already have. It feels like I went on a shopping spree! But this one is only for a special occasion and I would probably add a few accessories!

My dress is from JCrew and I dyed it blue from off white several months ago and the shoes are so old I can’t remember where I bought them from!

Lately, I have been trying to really focus on looking more put together and well rounded. I want to look great and in style when I go out shopping, especially when I wear scrubs ALL the time. This inspiration piece I found in January’s In Style Magazine. I can’t wait until I am actually able to wear it out and around. It is not only effortless, but comfortable as well. Two things I definitely treasure dearly!

I will be taking a break from blogging for a while. Under certain family occurrences, I do not have time for this while working full time and going to school part time. Maybe I will be back soon, maybe it will be a while. Stay Tuned!

The hubby and I always in some way celebrate Valentine’s Day. It is generally nothing special because I feel like he should be romantic through out the year. I am not talking about a big celebration every week, but maybe a note here and there. This year we are going out to a surprise location for dinner (He is planning, which barely happens) and we made homemade gifts for each other. I drew a picture of the two of us in my elementary drawing skills & he made me the heart inside a light bulb, which I have seen online. I loved the idea and even better he didn’t spend a dime, nor did I give him the idea!!!
To prepare for our surprise celebration, I wore the following:

Shirt: Future Paradise Via Ebay
Sweater: Old Navy
Jeans: Guess via Ross
Shoes: Target (I bought these almost four years ago and have only worn them once)
One of the things I hate about Valentine’s Day is how crowded it is. So every year I work on Valentine’s weekend & we celebrate on a different day! The restaurants aren’t crowded. We are able to have a conversation without hearing everyone else! I love it!

Today, I had to go into work for a few meetings. Generally, I wear scrubs, but when I am not on the unit, I HATE wearing scrubs. It makes me feel yucky at times. Since I am not in scrubs, I have to wear business casual.

Sorry it isn’t the best of pictures. I decided not to use my tripod, which was a big mistake.
Shirt: Forever 21: Actually Hunter Green
Pants: Target: Black
Shoes: Target: Purple
Cardigan: Target: Purple
Man, I have a lot of clothes from Target.
