Maybe back to normal…

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Hopefully within the next few days, I will be able to post all of my completed projects in the last few weeks and be back to somewhat normal!  Sorry for the delay.  Moving really takes a lot out of you.  Never realized it was this much work! :) There is definitely a difference between moving one person verses two. :)

House

Moved!

My hubby and I finally moved.  We have been very very busy with painting the new house, him doing a side job, and unpacking.  Please bare with me while I try to organize my life back together! :)

More Baby Stuff

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I continue to work on my sewing skills, which means doing and redoing a lot of stuff.  Below are some more of my current projects, which I have completed and probably not redo.

Elephant Squared Onesie

Zig Zag Elephant

I redid the elephant onesie, seen previously, with a zig zag stitch. Hopefully this will allow it to not fray at the end so much.

Zig Zag Upclose

Up close of the zig zag elephant stitch.

Sewing has definitely been a challenge to me. I often have to do other stuff and come back to it because I get so frustrated with it; however, I am determined.

Style!

Below is my style, according to sproost.com:

Vintage Modern

Flea Market, anyone? You know you are drawn to modern furniture and interiors, and yet you don’t like a space that feels cold and sterile. And who could blame you? That’s why Vintage Modern is so appealing to you. Though the backdrop of the room, the walls and windows, are many times white or monochromatic, the furniture and accessories have the color, shape and texture to bring the warmth into the space.

The great thing about Vintage Modern is ease of mixing different styles in the one space. You can have a new modular sofa mixed with a great pair of chairs that your grandmother purchased in the late 1950′s. The new and old work appear as though they were destined for each other. Even if you don’t have time for swap meets and garage sales, so many of the mid-century pieces were so great that they have been remade and mimicked year after year.

Crafts to Remember: Drop Stitch Scarf

Friday, January 30th, 2009

I finally completed the drop stitch scarf.  It was my first one that I’ve knitted.  I’ve knitted other scarfs/shawls, but it was only either purling or straight knitting.  I think I might try to knit a hat next or something along those lines.  I’m trying to get slowly more complicated with my knitting and not join into something full force.  I only get frustrated when I do that. :)

Prints!

Wow! I love etsy!  Every day is a gold mine when searching through the pages!  Looks at the two “treasures” I found today!

This is from Belle & Boo.  I just love how “peaceful” it is.  It is like walking in the woods & stopping for a tender moment.  It is also shows innocent love.

This is from Gorjuss.  I love the lime green with a dark turquoise color. I would never have thought about the color combination.

Another craft blog… OH NO! Yeah, I am starting one… to show what I am teaching myself to do and my current & on going projects. I have lots of mistakes, but as I have said before this is a learning process for me. Hope you enjoy! :)
