Boy Scouts

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Boy Scouts is not really looked upon very well; however, my husband’s parents met and raised their children in it.  They continue to be very involved, including my husband.  Going up my husband has been able to do tons of stuff, most people don’t even think about doing.  So for a week and half we will be in Boy Scout Land.  I will be cooking and my husband will be helping and doing Boy Scout stuff.  :)   See you in a while!

Crafts to Remember: Airstream Camper Stationary

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

I was sick again this week.  That makes twice in two months, which is very unlike me.  I have a feeling it has something to do with stress.  The hubby and I have been very busy this summer and it is just about to get worse.  Any ways, I have had to call out of work, so that leaves me at home A LOT and I get bored easily when I start feeling better.  Tonight, I worked on my inkscape skills and created the following stationary with the hubby’s instructions.  Feel free to download, please just give me credit if you repost.

Enjoy!

Crafts to Remember: Decoupaged Lamp Shade

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Here is the before & after.  I did this to make our guest room not look so boring.  I also did a few other things in the room to make it go from country looking to something a little more modern.  Maybe I’ll share later on. ;)

Crafts to Remember: Jewelry Update

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

My little sister got into the architecture school for interior design and so I made her these earrings for a celebration gift.  It was simple and I used what I had!  :)

Earrings

Along with making this sister the celebration earrings, I restranded her pearl necklace that she wore to her wedding. She has broken them and she sent them to me in order to be fixed. She apparently made the necklace; however, did not have time to fix it.

She also asked me to make a necklace and earrings to go with the shoes I bought her earlier in the summer.

Good Looking Houses: Door Stop

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

The hubby and I went on a little vacation and to a wedding.  While we were away in Boston, we found this cute “little” store called Black Ink.  It has a lot of cute little things that you wouldn’t even think of.  You can definitely find some of the stuff cheaper other places; however, it is nice to see it in person.    We did find a solution to a problem we have in our new house.  The guest room door loves to shut.  We have been using a CD case container filled with cds, but now we have something cute.   It is a “swiss” door stop.  It is designed by Andrew Stafford in the UK.  It was the perfect solution for us!

Crafts to Remember: Curtains Galore

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Well even though I have slacked off on posting, I have been very busy with doing stuff around the house.  Below are the two sets of “curtains” I made.  One of which is going on the inside of our old tv stand that my dad made so we could use it as a side board and the other are “mini” office curtains just to bring some color into the crammed full room that houses my desk, my husband’s desk and our sewing machine.
