Crafts to Remember: Decoupage

The hubby and I always start early on Christmas gifts. We like to have all of our Christmas shopping completed by Thanksgiving. Even though I love shopping, I do not like the crowds. Here is something I made my grandmother for Christmas. I took a plain cart canvas, sketched out a rose, painted around the rose and rose stem, painted the rose and rose stem white and finally decoupaged scrapbook paper into the shape of two butterflies. I did use a stencil to help me with the butterflies and cut out the traces with an exacto knife.

Edit: My grandmother loved it, but I guess it helps that she loves butterflies.
